Compatibility To Mixed Aviary Life
The African Silverbill Finch is a common resident in a dry savanna habitat south of the Sahara desert. It is a bird of dry country living in dense flocks all year round.
We have four silverbill finches in our aviary who manage very well. I can tell they are rather scared of the larger birds but they move so fast I’m sure the larger birds couldn’t catch one if even they wanted too! They have a lovely little song which is very inoffensive and they fly everywhere together only ever mixing with the zebra finches. They are relatively little known birds but I have been completely won over by their cheerful little ways. I just hope I don’t need to catch one!
